A forum on reading motherhood, taking poetics as the form of its praxis. Our goal is to create a place between blog, journal and listserv, between criticism and memoir, that maps the varying intersections between poetry and parenthood.

 

Black Mamas ATX

A community collective that seeks to reduce and ultimately eliminate the alarming maternal mortality and morbidity rates among Black women to help Black mothers get the education and access to resources needed to have healthy pregnancies and birthing experiences.

 

HYPHEN

A news and culture magazine, media outlet and community partner, that relates the enormous richness, contradiction, and vitality that defines the Asian American experience to build bridges within and beyond our own community.

 

Kundiman

A nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing generations of writers and readers of Asian American literature by creating a space where Asian American writers can explore, through art, the unique challenges that face the new and ever changing diaspora.

 

Lantern Review

An online literary journal and blog that showcases Asian American poetry and issues related to its production and dissemination, shedding light on the multifaceted, ever-evolving creature that is Asian American poetry.

 

Roots of Labor Birth Collective

A collective of birth doulas who serve low-income and Black, Indigenous and people of color communities to offer compassionate physical, emotional, and informational support to those members of our community who are most vulnerable to systemic oppression.

The Ruby SF

An arts-focused work and gathering space for creative Bay Area women of all definitions seeking a comfortable, pleasant environment in which to learn, share, and connect.

 

Yonsei Memory Project

A yonsei artist-led collaboration which utilizes arts-based inquiry to generate dialogue connecting the WWII incarceration of the Japanese American community with current civil liberties debates.
